Set Alignment Operator

image173.gif

The Set Alignment Operator is used to place a selected particle into a specific alignment at the point it receives a true ON condition. This is a handy way of re-aligning particles within an animation.

Operator Inputs

ON - (Bool) This input data stream determines whether the operator is considered 'on' or 'off'. You can connect other operators to this input channel such as a Bool Helper to activate/deactivate the whole operator.

Time
- (Time) This input data stream is used to define the local time for the operator when the user wants to override the default system time.

Particle
- (Particle) This input data stream reads in the currently selected particle group that is to be used as the source for the alignment adjustment. This data stream MUST be connected and will be highlighted yellow if it is not.

Alignment
- (Alignment) This input data stream reads in a matrix value for the alignment of the particle and is used to override all of the spinners in the rollout.

UI Overwrite
- those inputs are identical with those found in the rollout menu. When an input is connected the relevant UI control value is ignored.

Rotation [*] X/ Y/ Z
- The three rotational axis spinners can be used to set the way in which the particles orient themselves over time.

Variation [*] X/ Y/ Z
- These three spinners can be used to add a bit of random rotational variance to your particles.
